In 2017, many of the University’s professors held expert roles in Finland. For example, Juho Saari, professor of social and health policy, chaired a working group established by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä to look for new ways to combat social inequality. Kirsti Karila, professor of early childhood education, was one of three experts who analysed the development of early childhood education in Finland. Many researchers received awards for their significant work. Furthermore, dozens of professors and researchers provided comments in their fields of expertise for the media.
