An open lecture series on Finnish childhood, youth and family was part of a programme to mark the centenary of Finnish independence. The main organiser of the multidisciplinary lecture series was PERLA – Tampere Centre for Childhood, Youth and Family Research. Studia generalia lecture series also discussed the future and focus of journalism, and the Russian Revolution and its repercussions. One of the topics of Tampere Children’s Academy was the life of children one hundred years ago. On European Researchers’ Night, researchers from the University of Tampere talked about alternative Finnish history, the transformation of cities, and changes in Tampere’s soundscape.
